As a kid, there were few things better than a perfectly made peanut butter jelly sandwich. As you got older and more conscious of you health, however, you may have started wondering whether it could be time to cut it out of your diet.
But don’t worry! There’s no need to ditch the peanut butter. In fact, it’s got tons of peanut butter health benefits.

I personally have a love-hate relationship with peanut butter. I love how it tastes and I love the smell. The texture of it is simply amazing and I even like the way it sticks to the roof of my mouth before it melts. On the other hand, I really, really hate how my satiety signals just don’t seem to respond to peanut butter in the same way as with other foods.

Peanut butter is fairly nutritious. A 100 gram portion of peanut butter supplies a whole bunch of vitamins and minerals:
• Vitamin E: 45% of the RDA.
• Vitamin B3 (Niacin): 67% of the RDA.
• Vitamin B6: 27% of the RDA.
• Folate: 18% of the RDA.
• Magnesium: 39% of the RDA.
• Copper: 24% of the RDA.
• Manganese: 73% of the RDA.
There’s also a decent amount of Vitamin B5, Iron, Potassium, Zinc and Selenium in peanut butter.

In two studies, individuals eating five or more servings of nuts per week had a 25 percent to 30 percent lower risk of getting gallstones compared to those who rarely or never ate nuts. Although peanuts are technically classified as a legume, they were considered nuts for these experiments, so peanuts are actually the most commonly consumed ‘nut’ in the world.

All of the fat in peanut butter is heart-healthy monounsaturated fat. A study found that insulin-resistant adults who ate a diet high in mono-saturated fat had less belly fat than people who ate more carbohydrates or saturated fat.

Eating peanuts can reduce the risk of diabetes according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
8. High in Valuable Nutrition
Peanut butter has protein as well as potassium — which lowers the risk of high blood pressure, stroke and heart disease. It also contains fiber for your bowel health, healthy fats, magnesium to fortify your bones and muscles, Vitamin E and antioxidants.
